We are happy to go back to Paris to celebrate the FIFTH ANNIVERSARY of the EOLE project. We are also delighted to announce collaboration with the Open World Forum, which will host the event.
This year’s event is a special anniversary Edition. Its theme is voluntarily very broad to allow the speakers to propose speeches about which laws, regulations, rules or legal practices they find important for or relevant to the FOSS movement, be it some ground breaking case law, new legal trends, contractual practices, recent initiatives from communities, or even more sector-related specificities. The only criterion is that the speech should report on a detailed legal analysis on a legal issue pertaining to the development, use, distribution and/or the exploitation of FOSS. We encourage the candidates to share practical experiences (case studies), to summarize and give their opinion on some “classics” of Foss law or to raise prospective issues.
This year, the organisation committee is composed of the following members:
- Marco Ciurcina, Attorney at law (Studiolegale.it), Consigliere of the ASSOLI (Associazione per el software libero) [Italy]
- Benjamin Jean, President inno³, cofounder of Veni, Vidi, Libri, consultant (Gilles Vercken law firm) [France]
- Philippe Laurent, Senior Researcher at the CRID (Research Centre on IT and Law of the University of Namur), Attorney At Law (MVVP) [Belgium]
- Malcolm Bain, partner (id law partners) [Spain]
